Frequently asked questions

Does a bot join my Teams or Zoom call?

No. The app records on your computer: your microphone and the sound of the meeting that your computer plays. Nobody sees an extra participant. Tell the participants you record, as the law requires.

Where is my audio sent?

The recording, the transcript and the notes are kept on your computer. For the transcription only, a compressed copy of the sound is relayed to the speech-to-text engine (Groq or OpenAI, or Mistral in the EU on Pro), then deleted from our server as soon as the text is back. The notes are written by Mistral from the text. Olyteck keeps neither the audio nor the text.

I wear headphones in meetings. Will the others be recorded?

Yes, if you share the computer sound: when you start, Chrome or Edge asks what to share - pick “Entire screen” and turn on “Share system audio”. Two meters, You and Meeting, show that both are heard before you start; if the meeting sound is missing, the app tells you at once.

Can I import a Teams or Zoom recording?

Yes: MP4 videos (only the sound is used), MP3, M4A, WAV or OGG files. You can also import the .vtt transcript Teams gives you: the speaker names are exact and no transcription minutes are used.

Does it work with Obsidian?

Yes. Download the minutes as Markdown with a YAML header (date, participants, duration, tags) and actions as tasks, or choose a folder once - your vault - and every meeting is copied there automatically.

Which languages?

The spoken language is detected automatically: French, English, German, Spanish, Italian, Ukrainian and about fifty more. The minutes can be written in the language of the meeting or, with Pro, in another one.
